Monsoonal moisture and atmospheric instability will bring chances for afternoon and evening thunderstorms east of the Cascades to start the week ahead. Slight chances (10-15%) are in the forecast for Siskiyou, Modoc, Lake and Klamath counties on Tuesday afternoon/evening. A Red Flag Warning for abundant lightning covers Lake, Klamath, Jackson, and eastern Modoc counties on Wednesday afternoon and evening. In particular, stronger activity is possible over eastern Douglas county, north of Diamond Lake over the Cascades, and northern Klamath county. Lower thunderstorm chances (10-20%) extend into western Douglas, western Siskiyou, and eastern Modoc counties.
