Message remains unchanged regarding rain and storm chances over the course of the next week. Expect periods of heavy rain across much of the area tonight and Sunday, followed by another system Monday night into Tuesday, during which moderate to heavy rain will be accompanied by chances for strong to severe storms. Rainfall totals by the middle of next will be surely be over an inch, with amounts of 2 to 3+ inches in some areas. The combination of heavy rain and continued snow melt (far north and Upper Michigan) will result in rising water levels on rivers and streams next week, as well as flooding concerns.
