WEATHER STORY
Houston/Galveston
Weather Forecast Office
Radar Memorial Day Forecast Ozone Action Day Observed Rainfall Totals Past 72 Hrs
We experienced multiple rounds of heavy showers and storms over the past few days as smaller disturbances moved around a nearly stalled large upper-level system over the Southern Plains. The bulk of the rainfall over the past 72-hrs fell yesterday as strong thunderstorms produced rainfall rates 2-4" per hour and training storms. Widespread 1 to 3 inches were observed, with pockets of 5 to 7 inches. A full list of the preliminary 72-hr rainfall reports can be found here: https://partnerservices.nws.noaa.gov/products/cache/144-2026/PNSHGX/9013772d605dc58704f46c1f98d1ea82
