Deep tropical moisture will support high precipitation efficiency through this holiday weekend. The combination of high atmospheric moisture content and thunderstorms tracking over an already primed saturated soil will result in a flash flood threat. The probability for flash flooding is especially high for any slow-moving thunderstorms tracking over the same areas. Latest forecast trends suggest that the greatest potential for heavy rainfall and flooding this weekend will be for areas east of IH-69C/US-281. Remember to avoid flooded roadways, drive slowly, increased distance between yourself and the vehicle in front of you, have multiple ways of receiving warnings, and stay weather aware!
